What it is and how it should be used

Community MakerMall is the rebuilt community-facing level hub for Robot Wants Kitty. It aims to preserve the original spirit of MakerMall while making it accessible through the browser and a modern desktop/web client. This means some parts are already fully usable, while others are still being replicated, refined, or stress-tested.

  • Use the live MakerMall button above to open the latest public build.
  • Treat this as both a playable archive and an active test environment.
  • The hope is we playtest any new features we add to the game here so Raptisoft may add it to the live game.
  • Report issues with clear reproduction steps and a screenshot/video whenever possible.
  • Expect occasional UI quirks, rendering oddities, or client-specific differences while features are still being tuned.
  • During beta testing, the MakerMall database may be dropped and recreated from backup.
Bug reports

Where to submit problems

Discord

Submit bug reports, suggestions, comments or questions using various Robot commands in the discord server. Join there for active discussion, submit screenshots, and share reproduction steps.

What to include

Browser, platform, operating system, exact page, what you expected, what actually happened, whether it happens every time, if you had coffee etc.

Status tracking

Confirmed issues can be surfaced below in the Current Issues panel so the community can see what is known and what is fixed.

Performance issues on web

Larger levels being played on the web version are super laggy and any custom music is very choppy.

Boss eyes

The eyes on the Drip Boss and Eye Boss have lost synchronisation with their bodies.

Kitty tracking

When resuming a level, Kitty will lose the ability to face and track the position of Robot.

Rendering aberrations

Certain screens may still show odd visual artefacts or imperfect rendering. Core functionality
may be usable while presentation remains under observation.

Avatar image

The avatar image on the Account screen is not rendering, although one may be assigned
in the Avatar Selection screen.

BeepBox links

In the web client, BeepBox links are not being copied to the clipboard, so this is not working.
The BeepBox link on the PC client is reportedly working.

Robot phazors

Robot's phazors are not being drawn in the correct spot.

Unsharing a level

Unsharing a level from the Community MakerMall is not working at the moment. In the interim,
ask Robot in Discord for help removing it using the /unshare_level command.

Planned

Additional telemetry

Proposed measures will try to address the issue with alleged pseudo wins. This will be WIP

Lava- and acid-walking

Robot will soon be able to pick up a new app granting the ability to traverse over lava/acid. This ability will only be available while Robot is invincible.

RTA timer

A new toggle in the settings menu to enable a second timer for running a level in real-time attack.

Level hyperlinks

Will be adding hyperlinks for levels so that they can be shared with others. This will also be useful for Robot in the Discord server.

Token-based Authentication

Due to poor implementation, authentication is currently done with a clear-text password. This is not ideal as this password is stored in the settings file.
Authentication will take place via a token instead, planned for a future release.

Level backups

The ability to save levels to the MakerMall without sharing them.

New features toggles

Wherever possible, a toggle will be added for all new features to turn it on or off. For example...
Robot can have the old jump animation back with the flip of a toggle.

Boss-door glitch

We all know this annoying glitch has been floating around since inception and will be fixed for good soon, hopefully!

New beepbox!

The game currently only supports beepbox v2.3. Looking at supportingnewer versions but need to be mindful
of backwards compatibility.

Coloured Kitties

Variety is the sp[ice of life. Thinking of adding a few different coloured Kitties you can choose when making a level.

Live

Community MakerMall

A Windows desktop client will be available for download soon. Can also be played online.

Kitty always faces Robot

Kitty can now turn left or right depending on the position of Robot.

Robot jump animation

Robot now has a jump animation which is distinct from the original "falling" animation.

Restart confirmation

There is a new toggle in the settings menu to show a confirmation window when restarting a level. This setting is on by default.

Glitchy levels

The setting to show glitchy levels is now on by default.

Beepbox web support

If you make levels using the web, you can now add custom beepbox songs to them!

Issues and feature suggestions are tracked by Robot. If you have any feedback, suggestions or find any bugs,
ask Robot to track it in the Discord server using the /bug-report /question or /suggestion command.

  • In progress: More telemetry, improved web stability, avatar fixes, and browser/client parity work.
  • Next up: Highest rated by period, newest uploads feed, trending authors, and richer recent activity panels.
  • Later: Moderation tools, release notes, issue snapshots, and deeper Robot/Discord integration.
  • Longer term: A fuller public dashboard for levels, authors, plays, comments, and account growth.
